Dorsey Bus Enhancement Project

Situated near the town of Rosser, Manitoba, Manitoba Hydro’s Dorsey Converter Station was constructed in 1968. The station is the southern terminal for the utility’s Bipole I and Bipole II HVDC transmission lines. Teshmont was retained to update the 230 kV bus protection system at the Dorsey Converter Station.

This project required the following services from Teshmont:

  • The preparation of detailed schematic, wiring, layout, and bill of material drawings.
  • Designing and implementing the new bus implementation systems as well as designing and implementing breaker controls
  • Creating associated control desk modifications for four new bus tie breakers.
