Statnett retained Teshmont to evaluate the suitability of a multiterminal HVDC link for integration of the planned wind generation into the current ac network. Teshmont's key focus in working with Statnett was to identify significant issues that could be encountered in the planning, operation, and maintenance of a multiterminal HVDC system.

Teshmont provided Owner's Engineer services for the SARPEN HVDC Transmission System Project. Once completed, this HVDC system would have been able to transmit up to 2000 MW of electricity via two HVDC 676 km underwater cables and 1000 km of overhead line.

Teshmont is supporting AGD by performing system integration studies, developing conceptual designs, supporting the environmental and regulatory filings, preparing functional and technical specifications, reviewing the detailed design, monitoring manufacture and installation and participating in system testing and commissioning.
Teshmont is the Owner’s Engineer for Manitoba Hydro on the Bipole III HVDC Converter Stations Project. This project includes the northern Keewatinohk converter station, ac switchyard, and electrode, and the southern Riel converter station, synchronous compensator facility, and electrode.
Teshmont performed detailed system and design studies and prepared specifications for the Itaipu transmission system project. Teshmont also carried out a “state of the art” study, to establish the most appropriate technology to transmit the power. This was followed by a feasibility study of alternative transmission systems including 500 kV, 765 kV, and 1000 kV ac, as well as ±600 kV dc. A technical and cost study of ac and dc transmission showed that transmission at 765 kV ac was the optimum alternative.
Teshmont has been retained by Elia (Belgium) and National Grid (UK) to provide Owner's Engineer services for the Nemo HVDC Interconnector Project. The subsea HVDC connection will require Voltage Source Converters (VSCs) at both ends in order to convert electricity into HVDC, and appropriate technology for the undersea cables.
Teshmont provided engineering services from the initial feasibility studies through to final commissioning assistance for the HVDC Interconnection between Malaysia and Thailand.
